Official Rules & Regulations

We ask that each unit/group be in place at your assigned number by NO LATER than 2:00p.m. We will start the parade promptly at 3:00 pm.  Please remember that this is a Christmas themed parade, and as such, we require participants/entrants to have a theme that reflects the Holiday season.

  • The SIZE LIMITS are non-negotiable and are as follows: 12’ in height and 50’ in length; any entrants that fail to adhere to the limits will not be allowed to participate in the parade.

  • NO 18 Wheelers allowed, all motorcycles, drag cars, or race cars must be on a trailer.

  • Due to liability reasons and for the safety of spectators, ABSOLUTELY NO CANDY MAY BE THROWN. Violations will result in immediate removal from parade by security.

  • DO NOT STOP during the parade to ensure smooth flow.

  • Only ONE APPROVED SANTA CLAUS or GRINCH is allowed in the entire parade. The only Santa Claus or Grinch allowed in the parade are the ones that are included via the Mooresville Christmas Parade Committee – NO participant may have a Santa Clause or Grinch included in their group.

  • NO ANIMALS including pets walking except horses at rear of parade.

  • Horses MUST have a cleanup person or will not be allowed in the parade.

  • Homemade floats are required to have a fire extinguisher on the float.

  • The parade WILL be held rain or shine.

  • Entry and Floats fees are NON REFUNDABLE.

  • In the case of INCLEMENT WEATHER, no rain date is available due to road closing restrictions and availability of floats.
