Help Keep a Mooresville Tradition Alive!

For more than 80 years, the Mooresville Christmas Parade has been organized entirely by community volunteers. Every float, marching band, performer, and special guest that makes its way down Main Street is supported by an amazing team of people who give their time to help create this cherished holiday tradition.

Whether you're looking to give back to the community, meet new people, earn volunteer service hours, or simply experience the excitement behind the scenes, we'd love to have you join our volunteer team!

No previous parade experience is necessary—we'll provide the information and guidance you need.

Volunteer Expectations

To help ensure a safe and successful event for everyone, volunteers should be able to:

• Attend one volunteer orientation and training meeting prior to parade day.

• Be available on Parade Day from approximately 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM.

• Walk, stand, and remain active for extended periods throughout the day.

• Work outdoors in November weather, which may include cold temperatures, wind, or rain.

• Dress appropriately for the weather, including comfortable shoes and rain gear if needed.

• Communicate clearly and confidently with parade participants and spectators.

• Maintain a positive, friendly, enthusiastic attitude while representing the Mooresville Christmas Parade.

• Follow directions from Parade Committee members, law enforcement, and emergency personnel.

• Help ensure the safety and enjoyment of parade participants and spectators.​

What Volunteers Do

Volunteer assignments may include:

• Assisting with parade participant check-in

• Helping direct parade entries to their staging locations

• Answering questions from participants

• Assisting along the parade route

• Helping keep the parade moving safely and on schedule

• Supporting the Parade Committee with various event-day needs

• Assisting with post-parade wrap-up activities

Assignments will be made based on event needs and volunteer availability.
